Learn About CBD Vapes

The modern times in which we live remain fascinating. It seems that each year, new devices and new ways of doing things appear before us with great regularity. Granted, many of these new inventions are merely distractions or clever ways to do old things in a new way, but other ideas arise which bring a definite improvement to humankind. As we look back over the years, it is highly likely that the introduction of vaping in place of smoking may very well be an improvement that bettered our lives and our society.

IMPORTANT NOTE: We neither condone nor promote the use of tobacco or nicotine products but will explain their role in the development and use of vaporizing. This will help you understand important distinctions between nicotine and CBD products

A Brief History of Vaping

The history of vaping is understandably brief, but fascinating, with its beginnings as a concept in the 1930s. Although a couple of prototypes were built in the 1960s, it wasn't until 2003 that the first electronic cigarette (aka e-cigarette or e-cig) made its appearance. This was invented by a Japanese pharmacist, Han Lik, a 3-pack-per-day smoker, whose father died of lung cancer.

By the 21st century, there was no doubt that smoking cigarettes were harmful to your health. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), smoking cigarettes directly causes the following diseases:

  • Cancer
  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) - includes emphysema and chronic bronchitis
  • Diabetes
  • Heart Disease
  • Lung Diseases
  • Stroke

and increases the risk of:

  • Eye Diseases
  • Immune System Problems
  • Rheumatoid Arthritis
  • Tuberculosis

Almost all these health issues were directly related to inhaling smoke, which made vaporizing an attractive alternative offering the promise of enjoying nicotine (itself a highly poisonous compound) without exposing oneself to the risks of regularly inhaling smoke. (In most home fires, the usual cause of death is smoke inhalation, not burns.)

Nowadays, the e-cigarette industry is booming, despite some health warnings and concerns against excessive use, especially by minors. Although the verdict is not completely in about the safety of e-cigarettes, health issues directly related to regularly inhaling smoke into the lungs appear to be diminished by switching from tobacco to e-cigarettes, or from smoke to vapor.

Vaporizing CBD Oils

Meanwhile, the intriguing concept of enjoying traditionally smoked products without causing smoke or smoke-related problems took hold and spread beyond the tobacco industry. It took no time at all for the swiftly growing cannabis and hemp industries to jump on the vaporizing bandwagon. To this end, companies began apportioning larger percentages of their plant capacities for conversion to oils for vaporization.

Many people who smoke cannabis or hemp declare vaping to be superior in so many ways, specifically describing how much "cleaner" it feels to inhale vaped products instead of smoking them. They also say that the difference in taste between vaping and smoking is like eating a freshly baked cookie instead of a crisply burnt cookie. This makes sense because, with vaping, you are not burning the product but instead making it hot enough, so the materials are released as vapors.

As a general rule, e-cigarettes use juices while hemp and cannabis products lean towards the use of oils.

The Difference Between E-Cigarette Juices and CBD Oils

With e-cigarettes, the goal is to consume nicotine (that addictive ingredient that keeps smokers smoking). To this end, manufacturers determined that a "juice" (usually called vape juice, e-juice, or e-liquid) would serve best as the base for adding nicotine (and flavoring, if desired). The standard ingredients used for juices are vegetable glycerin and propylene glycol, to which is added distilled water, flavoring, and the desired level of nicotine.

(Vegetable glycerin is made from coconut, palm, or soybean oils; propylene glycol is a food additive the FDA has classified as "generally recognized as safe" and absorbs water and maintains moisture. Vegetable glycerin is very thick, making it difficult to use on its own for vaping, but combining propylene glycol creates an ideal blend for vaporizing products. Most sensational stories about e-cigarettes causing severe health problems typically point to black market products substituting vegetable glycerin and/or propylene glycol with vegetable oils or other cheap fillers, which can be harmful if inhaled as vapors.)

It is strongly recommended to only buy e-cigarettes preloaded with nicotine; it is not only addictive and harmful, but a single drop of pure nicotine touching your skin can be fatal, as the drug is immediately absorbed into your bloodstream through the skin. So, it isn't just smoking tobacco that can kill you... nicotine, the stimulant that hooks you on tobacco, can do it directly!

In comparison, the ingredients in CBD vapes are cleaner and non-addictive (since no nicotine is involved). Most plants naturally produce their own oil; hemp and cannabis are no different, so producers of CBD vape products typically use the oils which have been distilled from the hemp leaves, stems, and flowers after harvest.

Instead of using vegetable glycerin and propylene glycol, hemp oil manufacturers prefer MCT oils, which have proven to provide superior delivery of the CBD and other hemp compounds found in the plant. Likewise, most flavoring comes naturally from the plants through careful and professional cultivation processes that produce a stronger presence of aroma and flavor.

Frequently Asked Questions About CBD Vapes

We have also prepared a detailed FAQ, providing answers to the most common questions about purchasing and using CBD vapes that we regularly receive.

Is It Legal to Vape CBD Oils?

There are no federal or state laws prohibiting the acquisition and use of CBD vapes. There may be restrictions on where you may use it in public (just as smoking and drinking alcohol in public are also restricted).

Why Should I Vape CBD Oils?

Both smoking and vaping provide instant delivery, meaning when vaping CBD oils you feel the effects very quickly. In contrast to smoking, vaping avoids combusting plant materials yet still releases their phytocannabinoids into your body's endocannabinoid system. Another benefit that goes beyond wellness attributes is the fact that vaping CBD oils are quick and discreet, making it the ideal reliever for any time or place.

Do I Need a Prescription to Vape CBD Oils?

As with any wellness product you may choose to add to your current regimen, we recommend you review such decisions with your primary care physician. However, thanks to the fact that our CBD oil vape products are made using hemp oil, they are completely legal in the United States and do not require prescriptions in order to purchase them.

What's the Difference Between Reusable and Disposable Vape Pens?

A reusable vape pen can be used with multiple vape cartridges, whereas a disposable vape pens offers the convenience of simply tossing the pen once the product has been fully consumed. There is also the added convenience of not having to recharge the pen battery, nor is there ever a need to clean or maintain disposable products. Of course, the ingredients you are consuming are of greater importance than the type of vape pen you use, another reason you want to purchase your CBD vapes at CBD Emporium, where every product is carefully scrutinized and tested before acceptance into our line of quality CBD products.

Is There Any THC in CBD Vapes?

Although full spectrum hemp oil products contain only trace amounts of THC (which cannot make you high), we cannot guarantee that all drugs tests could be passed when using such products. If you have concerns about consuming any amounts of THC or are worried about passing a drug test for work, we recommend using only broad spectrum hemp oil CBD vapes. By using broad spectrum hemp oil products, you are assured no THC appears in the CBD you consume.

Which Is the Best Type of CBD Vape To Use?

With no intention of being facetious, choosing the type of CBD vape to use depends upon the effects you are seeking. For instance, we have three quality CBD vape products by the same manufacturer, but containing different ingredients to influence three separate moods: relax, relief, or focus. Many of our clients purchase multiple CBD vapes to enhance certain effects at various times of the day.

How Much CBD Oil Should I Vape Each Time?

Good CBD vape manufacturers (like the ones we carry!) state clearly how many puffs you can expect and how much CBD is in each cartridge. All you need after that is a calculator, and you have your answer. For instance, our CBD Luxe line of Be Alert, Be Calm, and Be Clear vape pens each contain 200 mg of Organic Pharma Grade CBD and will produce 300 puffs. Simple math tells you each puff will deliver .67 mg of CBD, a great starting point. Try one puff, wait a few minutes to see how it affects you, and then take it from there. Many users find their use varying depending upon the activity and stress they encounter during their day, using it to "tweak" their moods and energy.

I'm Not Tech Savvy... Are Vape Pens Hard To Use?

Vaping CBD oils is a snap and requires little or no technical prowess. In fact, if you choose the disposable CBD vape pen route, you don't even need to power it on or charge it up. Just start puffing and you are getting the CBD you want without a hassle.

As you can see, using CBD vapes is both easy and effective. If you have more questions, we invite you to visit any of our outlets to shop CBD Vapes near you or contact us online. We're here to help and share our positive experiences with CBD to make your personal decisions easier and surer!
