CBD Topicals are a great addition to anyone’s CBD collection, or a great way to start using CBD!
Topicals infused with CBD penetrate the skin to provide targeted relief through the endocannabinoid receptors. CB2 receptors of the endocannabinoid system are typically found in immune cells and cutaneous layers (layers of the skin), meaning when applying CBD topically it takes effect and absorbs quicker into the system compared to ingesting it.
CBD topicals are good for helping relief with joint & muscle aches and pains, inflammation, itchy and dry skin, and many other issues. Joint and muscle pain and inflammation can be caused from anything, arthritis, fibromyalgia, menstrual cramps, carpal tunnel, tendonitis, etc. When CBD is applied transdermal to help relieve these issues it penetrates the skin, signaling the CB1 receptors to send out anti-inflammation and pain-relief responses, it also signals the CB2 receptors in the cutaneous layers to send out similar anti-inflammatory signals to assist with relief for conditions such as dermatitis, eczema, and psoriasis. Since these products are topical and usually contain other ingredients like essential oils, shea butter, or coconut oil, they can also have other benefits such as relaxation and hydration.
