You may be wondering how CBD can help with the seven areas of wellness, and that’s a reasonable thing to question. We're going to go through what the seven areas of wellness are then we will go into how CBD can be incorporated to help you achieve overall better wellness!

Spiritual Wellness is finding life’s meaning and purpose and understanding the values, beliefs, and morals that guide your actions. It’s about having a relationship with yourself and knowing who you are and what you believe in. Finding what you believe in and working towards that is a big step to overall wellness. Ways to get closer to spiritual wellness is to take action with your beliefs, if being kind is what you believe then volunteering is a good step towards that. If helping others is your purpose then finding ways to do that will get you where you need to be. 

Physical Wellness is listening to and taking care of your body for optimal health and functioning. This breaks down to getting good sleep, eating well, exercising, hygiene, and relaxation. Listening to your body when it tells you it’s time to relax may be one of the most important parts of this, you can eat well, exercise, keep up your hygiene, but if you don’t take time to rest your body will start to crash. A great way to take a break is to practice meditation or instead of hitting the gym everyday add some yoga classes into your schedule, you still get your exercise but in a much more relaxed manner. 

Emotional Wellness can be a challenging one, especially after the past year or so that we have all had. Having the ability to successfully handle life’s stresses and adapt to change and difficult times is hard work. Having a brighter outlook on life, living in the moment, and being mindful can be challenging to actually do. You can say the words but it takes time, sometimes a long time, to break the old habits and form the new ones in your brain. Getting good quality sleep and reducing stress are a big help for this as well. 

Career Wellness is engaging in work that provides personal satisfaction and enrichment that is consistent with your values, goals, and lifestyle. The other part of achieving career wellness is having a work/life balance, not working so much that you no longer have a life.

Intellectual Wellness is being open to new ideas, thinking critically, and finding ways to be creative. This can be achieved through reading more, playing games, being social, learning new things, meditation, and self-reflection. 

Environmental Wellness is the sense of safety, comfort, and connection with our physical surroundings. This one may not sound super important for over wellness but it matters just as much as the others. Feeling safe and comfortable in your surroundings is important for relaxation and sleep, chances are feeling unsafe in your space means you won’t be able to relax or get good sleep. Ways to make sure your environment is comfortable for you and that you have a connection to it is to plant a garden, remove clutter, use natural cleaning products, and ride your bike or walk whenever possible. 

The last one is Social Wellness, this refers to the relationships we have and how we interact with others. Building healthy, nurturing, and supportive relationships is important for our wellness, having no one to turn to can be a lonely road. In order to have healthy relationships we all have to learn to take care of ourselves first, not criticize, judge, or blame others, and to ask for help if we need it.
